  • June 2006:  the dream for an arts education center is born
  • August 2010: World Upside Down (WUD) goes virtual
  • January – March 2011: Action Research Project conducted in the Dominican Republic
  • January 2013: WUD decides to go non-profit, starts Facebook and Twitter social media channels
  • February 2013: creates logo, opens bank account,  Edutopia features WUD in the 3-5th grade discussion section
  • March 21, 2013: selects Advisory Board and incorporates
  • June 2013: Matt Ohlson, former Director of Global Education Services at Florida Virtual School, suggests partnership with WUD
  • October 2013: submits 501(c)(3) non-profit application
  • November 2013: files taxes for the first time
  • April 2014: releases first promotional video
  • March 2014: launches www.worldupsidedown.org website and soft fundraising campaign begins
  • June 2014: files first annual State Department Report
  • August 2014: partners with Anna McCarty from Full Sail University for video production
  • September 2014: launches fundraising campaign
  • October 2014: meets with Julie Young, former CEO and Founder of Florida Virtual School and offers to help in any way possible
  • November 2014: Terry Liu, Arts Education Specialist for the National Endowment for the Arts, says he will share the project with his staff and help with the NAE July 2015 grant application
  • January 2015: IRS grants World Upside Down 501(c)(3) status
  • May 2015: visits the Dominican Republic to initiate partnership with Unicornio Films under the Ley de Cine
  • July 2015: WUD launches 2015-16 Pilot Project
